What you can do to fix a culture of violence

What can we do when we feel overwhelmed by the violence that plagues our culture? – Specifically the gun violence that has become increasingly prevalent.

Prayers and positive vibes can be a meaningful part of all of our personal journeys, and they can be truly effective in our personal growth, but we have to think about what we can DO.

When it comes to combatting a culture of violence and all else fails, we have to act.

Everytown For Gun Safety is an organization I love that is taking this issue to Washington. They’ve started a movement on social media with the hashtag #EndGunViolence and are addressing policies in our country.

Visit Everytown’s website. Become part of the movement, donate, do whatever you can DO.

The time is now. We must act.

Grateful

This year I’ve focused a lot on gratitude. At times, I feel an overwhelming amount of gratitude for the blessings in my life, the people I love so dearly, the supportive community around me.

But now, more than ever, I want to express the gratitude I feel for you – my friends, followers, and system of support and love.

I’m blessed to be surrounded by a community of socially minded people working to better themselves and their worlds.

Happy holidays to you and your loved ones.

I hope you’re soaking up the love and appreciation this holiday season, too. What are you grateful for?
